Wilford View, 83 beds, residential, dementia & nursing care
Bespoke new build with 83 en-suite bedrooms
Project Description
We were engaged by Nottingham based Medina Ltd. to design the entire building interior in Nov 2018. This included 83 bedrooms with 4 separate colourways, 3 main lounges, 3 quiet lounges, 3 large dining rooms, cinema room, multiple corridors, 6 break out areas, hair salon & Reception with café. Care types included residential, dementia & nursing care and was completed in Nov 2019.
We designed the M&E plans to co-ordinate all lighting models & positions, along with electrics and radiator positions. This allowed maximum usable space and furniture positioning. We continuously worked with Wynbrook Ltd. the main contractor on all aspects of the interior architectural layouts.
The 3 floors are split in care type, with residential, dementia & nursing care. We wanted to create a bespoke colour scheme for every single communal area, with emphasis on the 6 break out areas. These are within wide corridor areas and we wanted residents and families to enjoy sitting in these separate areas. Some were themed and all have accent wallpapers which engage conversations and stimulate the senses.
The 3 main lounges were more classic with seating, fireplaces, TV bespoke units and shelving. Again all have different colours, accent lighting and accessories. This differentiates between each eating, sitting, sleeping area and is designed to be homely and welcoming. The cinema room has a subtle classic colour scheme, with dark wallpaper and bespoke 2 seater sofas.
The main reception includes bespoke curved sofas, a café area for refreshment and dining seating in the orangery area. This is a beautifully light open space that gives a warm sophisticated feeling as you enter the home.
