Marketing suite complete at Welwyn Grange

We've now completed the full marketing suite which includes 4 bedrooms, main lounge/dining room, quiet lounge, reception & cafe. The interior design gives a luxury yet homely feel and each room has been individually designed, including specialist lighting, coffer ceilings, wall panelling and bespoke fitted joinery package. We can't wait to start the full fitout soon!

Welwyn Garden City project site visit

We had a full walk round and review of the interior spaces, ready for the fitout & install in early spring next year. What an incredibly tidy and well maintained site, probably the best I have ever seen! Excited to get this building fully furnished and ready for its lovely residents. It comprises 4 floors, 90 en-suite bedrooms & 13 top floor bedroom suites, each with a kitchenette, dining area, lounge, bedroom & en-suite.

Queenshill new builds almost complete

We are almost ready to install the fitout in north Leeds for Leeds Jewish Housing and the buildings are coming together! The accommodation provides sheltered housing apartments, with communal reception, cafe, meeting room and open plan lift lobby seating areas.

The site is progressing well, with roof almost complete and will be ready to start our full interior design turnkey fitout in late Autumn. We will be completing two marketing show bedrooms in Sept for residents and families to see how the final fitout will look. Can't wait to start installing this one!

Fitout complete at LJHA refurbishment project

Sheila Saunders Lawn building is a sheltered housing complex and my second of four projects for LJHA. Full interior design, costings, project management and installation. We transformed this previously unloved lounge, dining room and conservatory into a communal open plan space, removing the internal corridor wall and introducing biophilic greens into the garden room. In the lounge we added taupe and gold for a rich warming feel, with IT desk and feature fireplace. The dining room is lilac and silver for a clean fresh look. I also designed the first floor quiet area, with bridge card table/seating & second floor quiet seating area with bookcase.
Fitout at Sycamores Care Home in Wakefield

Preview of our latest full interior design, project management and fitout at Sycamores Care Home in Wakefield, a 16 bed new build scheme for Burlington Care. We completed the full fitout on Friday, which included 4 bespoke bedroom schemes, corridors and 2 Lounge/Dining room schemes. Having 4 different bedrooms gives new residents choices in bedroom selection and helps people with dementia and failing eyesight to differentiate between rooms more easily. The Living/Dining room opens to a lovely patio area, so we used fresh greens/beige with splashes of gold, to bring the greenery of the garden in. These colours are know to be calming and relaxing.

This is our fourth interior design project for Burlington Care and features 54 en-suite bedrooms, 7 suites, garden Lounges, main Lounges, dining rooms, reception with cafe, hair & beauty salon and themed quiet areas. There will be a mixed care type including residential and dementia care. The project is due to hand over at the end of this year and we are currently working on the architectural space planning, M&E layouts and mood board designs.

Preview of our latest care home interior design installation. St. Marys is a 26 bed extension scheme in Hull for Burlington Care. We completed the architectural interior design including full building CAD layouts from hand drawn architects plans, space planning, interior specification, M&E interior design layouts and fitout on site. Here is the Cafe Lounge, a luxurious yet homely feel incorporating coffer ceilings, feature fireplace and bespoke bookcases. More photos to follow!
Albion Mill care complex finally complete!

After 3.5 years of working on this amazing scheme, this week we have completed the interior fitout for VVHC! Here is the Cafe/Lounge with library mezzanine above, being laid out. Set over 5 floors, this large scheme incorporates 109 beds, including 50 extra care apartments, 24 dementia care apartments & 35 intermediate care en-suite bedrooms. The site was previously home to Albion Mill, an iconic landmark on the Blackburn skyline. Communal rooms include TV Lounges, Mezzanine Library/coffee area, Café, English Tea Room and a large open plan Reception.
Bessingby Hall extension complete

We have just completed a full architectural interior design scheme for Bessingby Hall near Bridlington, on behalf of Burlington Care. This included bespoke M&E, furniture, decoration & flooring layouts and comprised 17 en-suite bedrooms, communal lounge, garden room, reception, library area and corridors.
Twelve Trees Care Home refurbishment Phase 2 completed!

Yesterday we finished our interior design refurbishment, with the first & second floors. This included a lounge, dining room, corridors and seating areas. Twelve Trees director Simon Mills posted "Final phase of our refurbishment is now complete, the residents and staff love it! Fabulous job Hiedi our talented interior designer and all the hard working contractors in difficult circumstances. Amazing!"
Three interior design projects for Burlington Care

We have been appointed as architectural interior designer for 3 projects with Burlington Care. St. Marys, Anlaby (26 bed extension), Bessingby Hall Bridlington (17 bed extension), and The Sycamores Wakefield (16 bed extension). We will be providing full architectural space planning, M&E interior design layouts, mood boards, fitout schedules, project management and installation. Our first fitout completion will be Bessingby Hall in Oct, photos to follow!

The building design incorporates 4 floors, 91 beds & 13 care suites. Care types will include residential, nursing, dementia and assisted living.

Interior design underway for Queenshill Avenue care facility for LJHA

We are progressing our affordable housing scheme for Leeds Jewish Housing Association in north Leeds. The buildings comprises 85 new properties including 51 sheltered housing apartments for over 55's and 34 general needs apartments. Construction has now started on site and is expected to take 18 months to complete. This includes our architectural interior design work for both buildings, as well as two refurbishment interior design projects for their existing stock of properties.

Twelve Trees Care Home refurbishment Phase 1

Was a pleasure to install phase 1 of Twelve Trees Care Home refurbishment & fitout yesterday, in Sheffield. This home has both classic high ceilings with beautiful cornice and period features, along with a modern extension and conservatory. The hair salon was previously an unused bathroom, which we converted into a modern salon with hair wash sink, styling unit and nail bar. A dark and unused space next to the main lounge was transformed into a central library area, where residents can now relax with a good book and a cuppa. Stirling University Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC) 'Intersection of Dementia & Design'

We have just completed the 'Intersection of Dementia & Design' course at Stirling University. Stirling are world leaders in dementia design and this course was extremely informative and educational, not only in terms of design & specification, but also clinical information on causes, types and treatments for dementia, particularly within a care environment.

Branthwaite Care Home in Retford is finished!

This care home specialises in Dementia care and our brief was to create a bright, warm & welcoming feel to this floor, whilst being 100% dementia friendly. This included Corridors, Lounge, Dining Room, Sensory Room, Tea Room and Music Area. The existing Corridors had limited natural light, due to being an internal 360 degree loop. We wanted to uplift these and create a bright & welcoming set of unique areas, where residents could identify their rooms more easily and create additional seating zones for family & friends. Each individual corridor now has a different feel, with a "Conservatory" area, a "High Street" area and an unused Nurse Station transformed into a "Music Area". We've worked our socks off and delighted to have now fully completed the interior design, project management and fitout of Wilford View Care Home in Nottingham for Medina Ltd. The main contractor was Wynbrook, with Rayner Davies Architects. The building includes residential, dementia & nursing care. 83 bespoke en-suite bedrooms, 6 lounges, 3 dining rooms, 6 break out spaces, hair salon, cinema room & reception with café. Formby Manor Care Home

We have now completed the electronic interior design including CAD layouts, Room data sheets, fitout sheets and interior electrical layouts for this third care home for McGoff Construction. This 76 bed "new generation" care facility offers residential, nursing and specialist dementia care. Each floor enjoys its own communal lounges and restaurants. All bedrooms boast En-suite wet rooms and there is also a spa styled Assisted Bathroom & Hair Salon with nail bar.

Wilford View site visit

The site is at first fix stage and the room sizes are looking fantastic, even the break out areas are very spacious. We visited the care home site last week and met with Wynbrooks to discuss radiator positions, electrical requirements and curtain fixtures. These are details important to get right at first fix stage, so there are no clashes when we are undertaking the fit out later this summer.

The build is well underway and up to second floor level. From the drone footage you can see the canal next door and beyond the home sits Blackburn Rovers football stadium. The interior design is now finalised and we are currently project managing, ready to start the full fit out later this year.

The build phase of this project is well underway and we visited site today, getting a feel for the sheer size of this prestigious care home. Piling has been completed, along with most of the metal structure and brickwork started. We discussed the whole project including electrical and lighting specifications, flooring and bulkhead details. The building will have great views from the Reception, Library and open plan Dining Room/TV Lounge/Cafe, which overlook the Leeds to Liverpool canal, complete with narrow boats! Our interior design work is being finalised and we are looking forward to starting the fitout towards the end of this year.

Wilford View Care Home in Nottingham is currently in construction and features 83 en-suite bedrooms, various Living Rooms, Dining Rooms, open plan Reception with Coffee Shop, Break Out areas and Hair Salon. The Architects are Rayner Davies and the expected completion date is summer 2019.
Formby Manor Care Home in Formby, Liverpool for Newcare and Mcgoff Construction

We were asked to produce the electronic interior design including CAD layouts, Room data sheets, fitout sheets and interior electrical layouts. This state of the art £15 million, 76 bed care facility will offer residential, nursing and specialist dementia care. Facilities include well-appointed Bedrooms, all with en-suite Wet Rooms, several stylish Lounges, elegant Dining Rooms, Spa Assisted Bathrooms, Hair Salon and nail bar and Reception with Coffee Area. The building is due to open early 2019 and will create 80 jobs.
Private garden transformation, from an unloved overgrown space to a low maintenance contemporary design

The client wanted a low maintenance garden with a modern feel. The existing garden was unloved with a lot of existing paths concealed under the overgrown grass and planting, a rotten asbestos covered dilapidated garage and broken greenhouse. The second half of the garden was never used and it was not being used to its full potential, which due to its south/east aspect enjoyed full sun most of the day. 3 designs were shown and the client decided the circle/geometric design fitted their brief well. 4 of the 5 established trees were kept, to retain a feeling of height. Hiedi Lazenby Design was asked by Verum Victum Healthcare to be interior designer on this unique project. The building incorporates 109 beds, including 50 extra care apartments, 24 dementia care apartments & 35 intermediate care en-suite bedrooms. The site was previously home to Albion Mill, an iconic landmark on the Blackburn skyline. We have included in the interior design features which refer to this building and Blackburn as an area. Communal rooms include TV Lounges, Mezzanine Library/coffee area, Hair Salon, Café, English Tea Room and a large open plan Reception. Bardsley construction are the main contractor and Candy Lofthouse are the Architects. The project is due to complete early 2020.

Award winning unique large family house set in beautiful grounds in South Yorkshire

Hiedi Lazenby Design was commissioned to work on this unique family house. Our client was looking to create a homely feel with individual design features to accentuate and make this new home reflect their personality. The contemporary interior design included bespoke central staircase with crystal chandelier. The main bedroom features a unique curved bed wall and bespoke dressing room with a mezzanine level being introduced in the second bedroom. The house benefits from individually designed en-suites and bathrooms throughout, with an open plan kitchen/dining space leading to a bright and airy garden room with feature log burner and fabulous views. "Sky Bar" at Timken Grange, Duston for Oakdale Care Homes

We were commissioned by Oakdale Care Group to re-design a 2nd floor Quiet Room into a bespoke " Sky Bar". This room was chosen to enable residents and visitors to enjoy a cocktail overlooking the beautiful landscaped gardens. We designed 2 schemes and Oakdale chose a contemporary "cocktail" chic design, which included a corner Bar Area with bar stools, bespoke display shelving, dining style seating and a relaxed sofa area. Gold and black were chosen to reflect a chic almost bygone bar, yet modern retro feel, with feature wall uplighters, ceiling lights and floor lamp, cocktail shakers and bespoke furnishings.
